Applications for the 2027 Tennessee Legislative Internship Program are now available! UTM students can request an application packet from Dr. Chris Baxter at [email protected]. Administrators from the program will be on the UTM campus TUESDAY, AUG. 25 from 11:00-3:00 in UC 111 to answer questions.

The Department of Political Science & Global Studies is proud to congratulate Dr. Adnan Rasool on winning one of the University of Tennessee's President's Awards for 2026! Dr. Rasool was recognized in the "United and Connected" category for his outreach efforts which created multiple student internship opportunities and laid the foundation for the Houston and Debbie Gordon Center for Rural Innovation. He is currently serving as the Director of UTM's Center for Teaching & Learning, but he is forever a PSGS guy!

In its first year, the Center for Rural Innovation (CRI) is already making a difference in the lives of UTM students and in West Tennessee communities. With the generous support of Houston and Debbie Gordon, the CRI was able to place a number of interns in positions around the region this semester. Six of the interns recently met with the Gordons, CRI Director Allan Sterbinsky, and Dean Jeffrey Bibbee to share the details of their experiences.
