Political science majors offer students a wide range of career opportunities. It has been a historic week for UTM and its students!

On Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, UTM and the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis formalized a 3 + 3 agreement between our two schools! Now, UTM students majoring in Political Science, English, or Agricultural Business can complete three years of credit toward their Bachelor's Degree and then apply to begin law classes in their fourth year. If accepted, the credits the students will earn during their first year of law school will complete their Bachelor's Degree at UTM.

UTM has had a long and proud tradition of sending our graduates to Memphis to receive their JD; this agreement is a celebration of that history and a promise to maintain our friendship for generations to come!

On what would have been his 89th birthday, we pause to remember the legendary Dr. Ted Mosch. Thanks to a generous gift from UTM alumnus Dale Allen, the Ted Mosch Classroom serves as a daily reminder of Dr. Mosch's 30+ years of exceptional service to UTM's Political Science program. Now located in Room 408 of the Humanities Building, the Mosch Classroom showcases memories of Ted's career as well as awards and honors earned by recent Political Science and Global Studies students.
Watch here for announcements about our rededication ceremony to be held this Fall!
