Who are we?
The Math Craft Laboratory is a program for the high school young women of Northwest Tennessee. We are focused on experiencing mathematics in a fun, collaborative, and encouraging way. The program is headed by a four-woman team (with a combined 50 years of teaching experience!) from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Tennessee at Martin. We hold four day-long workshops at UT Martin during the school year, during which our participants have the opportunity to work in groups of their peers from area schools. They get to learn about college and career opportunities and build connections with our faculty that last beyond the school year. At the end of the four workshops, participants will have developed skills and mindsets that support success in any career path. They will also earn a prestigious addition to their resume through this Mathematical Association of America-sponsored program.
