Dear Fashion Merchandising Students and Supporters,
With the last week of classes coming to an end, I am going to sign off our social media page and hand over the reins to the new faculty member starting in the fall.
My time at UTM has been wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for a better program to serve. I have gotten to witness multiple cohorts of students go through ups and downs and come out stronger. I’ve seen passion for our industry grow and confidence levels increase. I will never forget each and every student I have gotten to serve the last four years and I thank you and your families for trusting me with your education. I am so proud of you and I cannot wait to see where life’s adventures take you next. My leaving UTM does not mean my support for you ends.
Thank you also for the support of this page! I started this a few years ago to increase awareness of our wonderful little program and I am super grateful for every post you’ve liked, shared, or interacted with. Our students deserve recognition and opportunities, and you are part of making that happen.
I am sad to leave this program but I have no doubt that it will thrive and continue to give students the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
Best of luck with finals and thank you for allowing me the gift of being your Lecturer for the last four years. I will miss you very much.

Another thing to love about our program is the experiences we get to have.
Our students have attended Nashville Fashion Week, sewn their own pajama pants in our fashion lab, visited an alpaca farm, practiced their visual merchandising skills, and made connections with students from the other side of the world. That’s not all we do in the Fashion Merchandising program, but it definitely makes us an exciting area to study!
If you’re a present or former student, don’t forget to share our program with your friends!

My four years as Lecturer of Fashion Merchandising are coming to an end in three weeks. To celebrate my time here, and usher in a new leadership in this program, I'd like to share what I love about our program. I will start with the students.
They are the most important thing and I have been incredibly lucky to have wonderful students who have taught me just as much as I have taught them. Our program population is mostly female and it has been inspiring to witness strong and kind women entering the industry with a heart to do good for future generations of women. I've gotten to witness immense academic and personal growth as well as simple acts of kindness, such as leaving post-its with kind messages for their classmates. Students have shared so much with us in FCS, and with me, and I am very grateful. -AJ

We just finished covering the 19th century in our Fashion History course. Here’s a gorgeous evening gown from that period located in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Jane Austen and Bridgerton vibes galore! The fashion of that period was relatively simple and far less ostentatious than the preceding century when women’s gowns could be as wide as 18ft!
What’s your favorite period in fashion?

Today is National Puppy Day! Share your pup’s photos with us! Even better if you can include fashion.
Here’s Milo attempting to be studious when he was a puppy.
