Check out the big improvements made on the back side of our building thanks to High Grade Materials Company!! We are so grateful for their donation of the concrete!! We also want to give a shout out to Osterhaven Concrete, LLC who did the work and made it look so nice! The students will have a nice path to line up and get creative with chalk and other activities. Here’s some before and after pictures of the much needed face lift.

Our school is ready for students thanks to the hard work of our families this past weekend! 🧽 We had lots of parents and students show up to help clean the building and prep the outside for new cement. We got so much accomplished and are so thankful for each and every person who came to help!

We have one more new staff member we're happy to introduce: Ms. Anika Vander Veen. Ms. Vander Veen will be teaching Middle School Math & Science. She recently graduated from Calvin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She has experience working with K-8th grade students and implementing effective behavioral plans as a student teacher, substitute teacher, and camp counselor. Anika has also helped students with special needs and is passionate about meeting the learning needs of each student to help them thrive. She is excited to connect with families and help students grow in their relationship with God. Join us in welcoming her to EMCS!

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Brandie Sisson will be serving as our Principal and ESS teacher. Brandie comes to us with 10 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. As a teacher, she has collaborated with administration to establish and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations. Mrs. Sisson also provided support to ESL students, facilitated small-group instruction, and led Student Success Teams to ensure students received the academic interventions they needed to succeed. She is married with two children. Brandie is originally from the West Michigan area, but has worked in diverse educational settings across the country as a military spouse. She is excited to be back in West Michigan and working at a close-knit Christian school community. Please join us in welcoming her to EMCS!

Mrs. Allison Sanford will be joining us in the fall to cover Mrs. Russcher's maternity leave in the 1st/2nd grade classroom. She graduated from Cornerstone University and has taught at Heritage Christian Academy as a 3rd grade teacher and substitute teacher for grades K-5th. She is married and has a 2-year-old daughter. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Sanford to our school while Mrs. Russcher enjoys baby cuddles. Please help us welcome Mrs. Sanford!
