Was anyone personally affected, or have family that was, by the storms of last weekend?

As promised, I followed up with Troy’s wife and parents, sending cards with each of the names who contributed. All totaled, we sent $2270 for children’s fund. They have both asked to extend their appreciation and thanks for this generous gift. His mom called and wanted to know how to get the addresses to send a card to each of us. I assured her that was not necessary. His wife reached out for the same. Carole said Troy would be so humbled to know we did this for him. I told them I’d post here so that you all know how grateful they are.

Troy’s wife posted this today regarding the arrangements and how monetary donations will be handled. We have over $1400 thus far, which is amazing! I have responded to each person who has donated so you know I’ve gotten it. If you haven’t heard from me, check with me. For the sake of reaching more people over the weekend, I will wait until Monday to give the donation.

I wanted to make everyone aware that Troy Hutchens passed away. The cause is yet unknown. When there is an obituary I will share.

I know we’ve had others, too many others, from our class to leave us so soon, which is a shock and saddens us all. We don’t have anything as a class in place to send to the family, but we could easily do so with the ease of transferring money these days. Troy leaves a wife, daughter in 5th grade and son in 6th. His parents still live in Martin. I’d like to suggest we give money directly to the family, specifically for the children. I know flowers are appreciated, but honestly these days, I feel whatever we can do to help his family we should do.

If you can contribute, I will gladly handle the details of getting it to his parents on behalf of the Westview Class of 1990 and will mention each name (no amounts).

Life is so fragile and so short lived no matter the years. This is a small way of showing our love as a class. Any amount will be appreciated.

We’ve had to make a tough decision to postpone the reunion. We have already paid deposits that we hope to get our money back for, and have some big ones that are due this month that we would loose if we later canceled. We want to make this happen, but life has thrown us a curve. Whether we gather later this year or even next, we will have our reunion! Stay tuned! -Claire, Lynn and Angie

Look what I found!

This is so exciting! What a great night it will be to come back together after 30 years! Every time I look at that number I think...how's that even possible? But it's real, and we need a celebration! So let's get started by getting registered for the Saturday night event! Dinner, dancing and talking into the night is a must! More information to follow on other events over Friday and Saturday!
