Check out a highlight of our training burns at IFIW 2025:

We were fortunate to observe a window attack demonstration from Fire Safety Research Institute.

The following video shows two important viewing angles:

1) The window view which is filmed with a Bullard Emergency Responder QXT PRO

2) The hallway view which is filmed with a Seek Thermal Attack PRO VRS

1. Notice how quickly the window view shows the fire is knocked down.
2. Notice from the hallway view how much heat is reduced in the hallway outside the fire room that was venting out of the delta side of the building.

Insight Fire Training is proud to announce we will be providing a great training opportunity with HEN Nozzles in Bowling Greene Kentucky on July 13th 2026.

Join Insight Fire Training for a hands-on program focused on improving fire attack through proper stream placement and effective thermal imaging camera (TIC) use.

🔥 Class Schedule

8:00 – 10:30 AM | Classroom Session
Led by Insight Fire Training instructors, this session will cover fire attack principles, stream placement, and how TIC integration can improve operational decision-making.

10:30 – 11:30 AM | Hands-On Skill Stations
Students will participate in outdoor demonstrations where instructors will work directly with each participant on the fundamentals of nozzle work and hose team advancement.

11:30 – 12:30 PM | Lunch Provided

1:00 – 3:00 PM | Burn Building Fire Attack Simulations
Students will take part in demonstrations and observations showing the impact of proper water placement. Water will be flowed inside the burn building without live fire to visualize stream effectiveness.

3:30 – 5:00 PM | Thermal Rebound Demonstration (Live Fire)
This live fire demonstration will show the effects of stream placement through the lens of a thermal imaging camera. Students will observe from the exterior while Insight Fire Training instructors and host staff conduct interior operations.

🔥 Train Smarter with the Insight Fire Training Hybrid Max Fire Box : Burn & Learn🔥

Realistic training makes better firefighters—and the Hybrid Max Fire Box delivers exactly that.

By combining Burn & Learn techniques with Insight Fire Training Thermal Imaging lessons, departments get the best of both worlds: real fire behavior with controlled, repeatable learning environments.

🚒 Why it works:

🔥 Real Fire Behavior-Experience actual fire growth, heat, smoke, and ventilation effects—far beyond what simulations can offer.

🧠 Immediate Learning Opportunities-The Burn & Learn approach allows instructors to pause and explain scenarios so firefighters understand why fire behaves the way it does.

🔁 Repeatable Scenarios-Run the same evolution multiple times so crews can apply lessons, adjust tactics, and see the results in real time.

👨‍🚒 Improved Decision-Making-Insight Fire Training helps firefighters read smoke, recognize fire flow paths, and understand modern fire dynamics before they face it on the fireground.

⚙️ Safe, Controlled Environment-The Hybrid Max Fire Box allows departments to deliver intense, realistic training while maintaining instructor control and safety.

📈 The Result:-More confident firefighters. Better tactical decisions. Stronger crews when it matters most.

Train with purpose. Train with fire. Train for the real world.

This week, Instructor Andy Starnes spent another week in Canada, answering questions at the FireSafe Headquarters FDIC Atlantic booth, followed by in-service training with the firefighters of Fredericton - Fire Department.

The in-service training consisted of the Max Fire Box Phase 2 burn-and-learn. Over 4 days, 8 training sessions were held, highlighting the Seek Thermal Fire Pro and Attack Pro series cameras.

Stateside, Instructor Thomas Anderson and members of the cadre returned to Indianapolis, IN, for a customized two-day thermal-imaging search program in partnership with the ESEC - Indianapolis.

This program consisted of an 8-hour lecture presentation, followed by an 8-hour day of live-fire search evolutions.

During live-fire evolutions, students applied lessons learned in the classroom through drills and objectives!
