Shook Elementary School

Shook Elementary School We appreciate your continued support of your child, our school, and our Shook Kids.

We take pride in referring to our school community as a family – the Shook Family, and we hope this year provides additional opportunities to strengthen bonds between school and home. Close ties and open communication between school and home are clearly essential to our work. Whatever we do as teachers to guide, shape, and motivate children can only supplement the loving commitment, interest, and

instruction you provide at home. As we engage in this worthwhile partnership, we thank you for your hard work and ask that you never underestimate the precious role you play in the success of your child.

Let us "point" out a few tools that are available to you.

At Marshfield R-I Schools, we know our families make their children a top priority—and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Life gets busy, and we're committed to making the school year as smooth, convenient, and stress-free as possible. From clear communication to easy access to important information, we want to be your partner in helping every Blue Jay succeed.

Throughout the year, we keep families informed in a variety of ways, including our email, text messaging, district app, website, social media, and our district newsletter, Blue Jay Briefings.

Coming soon, families will receive the Welcome Back Blue Jays newsletter, and it's packed with important dates, helpful reminders, and everything you need to start the school year off right.

As you're planning your family's schedule, be sure to check out the district calendar on our website. Not only will you find the school calendar, but you'll also see many important events already added throughout the year.

Psst... Looking forward to finding out when Early Learning Center and elementary teacher letters are mailed? That date is already on the calendar! Wondering when Grandparent Night is? We've got you covered. Need to know which days Monday JayCare is unavailable? You'll find that there, too.

Our goal is simple: make it easy for busy Blue Jay families to find the information they need, when they need it. We invite you to explore our website, download the district app, and watch for the Welcome Back Blue Jays newsletter—it will be arriving soon!

Last week, the Chrysalis Etiquette Club, led by Mrs. Robertson, wrapped up another great year of learning with a celebration banquet at the Jr High. In collaboration with Mrs. Engleking’s 8th grade Advanced FACS students, the celebration included Salad, Bread, Chicken Parmesan over Pasta, Green Beans, and Chocolate Lava Cake served with strawberries, raspberries, and ice cream. Our club members were able to practice their new dining skills, enjoy their meal, and received certificates of completion. It was a great experience for all!

Today, Shook’s fifth-grade students participated in the “Don’t M**h with Us” program to learn about the consequences of methamphetamine use and how to embrace a drug-free future. This program was a short, yet impactful follow up to our Dare education earlier this year! **hWithUs
