Another very exciting weekend. Catamount Pipe Band had a great day at the Capital District Highland Games. Catamount Grade 4 won the March Strathspey and Reel event earning the North Eastern Championship title. Double first in piping, first in ensemble, 2nd in drumming. Well done all. Hazen Metro won piper of the day in Grade 1, Scott Appel won drummer of the day in grade 4, Sam Markus was 3rd in the march, Elizabeth Malone won the Piobaireachd in grade 4 with an AGL, and I think James Patterson got some big prizes too, though I didn't hear what they were. Thanks to the games committee for a great event and well done to the band.

Are there any unused or unloved 4 string banjos out there? I have a young member of the Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts that wants to learn to play. Celtic music typically used 4 stringed banjos. Email me at [email protected]
