Marshfield Hills Pottery Studio

Marshfield Hills Pottery Studio is a charming studio space located in the former Damon Carriage Factory, which dates back to the mid 19th Century.

The studio is in the heart of the nationally registered historic district Marshfield Hills Village, just around the corner from the North River Arts Society. Classes are offered year-round, providing instruction for all levels and ages of students’ experience working with clay.

I am so excited to be teaching an adult pottery class again! My class is being offered through the Hanover Office of Family & Community Engagement. The class runs for 6 weeks beginning on Jan. 30 and will be held in my classroom at Hanover High School. (It is open to non-Hanover residents.) The fee is $179, which includes all materials. The dates are: 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/5, & 3/12.

I am not currently able to offer weekly pottery classes like I have in the past. Please contact me about private parties, i.e. kids b-days or "Girls Night Out" events. I'd be happy to make something work for you.

It's the 40th Annual Festival of the Arts this weekend! While enjoying the festivities, come by my tent and see what I've been creating all winter. I'll be in the artisan area that is located closest to the Marshfield Hills General Store from 10-5 Sat. and Sun.

Small Business Saturday is this Saturday, the 1 day that MHPS is transformed from a studio & classroom into a pottery shop. Come by between 10 and 2 to check out the studio and to shop for unique gifts.

I've been burning the midnight oil at the studio for quite a while now preparing new work for the Duxbury Art Association's Craft Showcase this weekend. I'd love if you came by to check out what I've created. The event is held at Duxbury Middle/High School this Sat., 10:00 to 5:00 and Sun., 11:00 to 4:00. Come by and say hi!

There is still SPACE AVAILABLE in next week's KIDS POTTERY CAMP.

Camp (for ages 6 to 12) will be held Monday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 13 (4 days) from 10:00 a.m. to noon each day.

Kids will explore many hand-building techniques with clay and will also try out the potters wheel. There will be a 5th class later in the summer for the kids to come back to the studio to glaze all of their creations.

The cost includes all classes, materials, and firing fees and family discounts are offered.

If you are looking to add something fun and creative for your children to do this summer, I have added 2 weeks of Kids Pottery Camp in August. (the week of Aug. 3 and the week of Aug. 10)
