Our bakers are finding their groove! 🤗🤩

One of the things I love most about programs like ours, whether it’s Art, Industrial Tech, and especially Culinary, is that you get to see learning happen. You can actually look at where a student started, where they are today, and imagine where they’re headed next.

These pastries are a little snapshot of where our bakers are right now. You can see their technique coming together, their confidence growing, and all those little skills starting to click.

There’s something so rewarding about watching the progression unfold right in front of you. What may have started as a recipe and a set of instructions is becoming their creation.

And honestly… I’m pretty excited to see what these bakers create next. 🧁🤎

We are open today and the bakers are showing off 🤗🤩

In the tree box we have:
•Oatmeal butterscotch cookies, snickerdoodle, cookies, and chocolate chip
•Banana chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip muffins, and pumpkin delight muffins, which were the winner from last year’s muffin design!
•Lemon vanilla scones, and chocolate chip scones

Have you met our Welcome Center ladies, Stacey and Luly, yet? 🤗🤩

They are the amazing women who greet and welcome everyone who comes to the BA Niblock Welcome Center for school registration. They’re such an important part of connecting families to our school and our community, and we couldn’t be more grateful for them! ❤️

I’m especially grateful because they are always supporting our students — and they love treats! 😁

The Bobcat Cafe is back open for the 2026-2027 school year inside the BA Niblock Orpheum Welcome Center located at 220 E. Main St., and the students running it in partnership with Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher Jules Wight are picking up important lessons on both customer service and the ins and outs of running a business.

Wight and a group of her senior students spoke to the T-R on Thursday morning, and while they are only eligible for the half credit once, some have chosen to come back regardless.

"For me, really, I just heard about it from other peers in school, and they said it was good, helping the community and stuff, so I just thought it would be a good idea," said one of the students, Ethan Matlock.
