I will be giving tours of Mountain Breeze Preschool next week for families interested in joining for the 2026/2027 school year.

We currently have one Monday - Friday space open in our butterfly classroom for a child who is 4 years old.

We currently have space in our caterpillar classroom for 3-year-olds. We have one Monday - Friday space open. Two Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday options open. We have one Tuesday, Thursday option.

Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of our Spring Fundraiser. It means the world to our school. Thank you to everyone who donated money and prizes for our online auction. Thank you to everyone who bid on prizes and shared our fundraiser.

Our budget has been tight since our expansion, inflation, and everything that has gone on in our region in the last two years. We have mostly focused on the basics, what we need for licensing, and what we need for our teachers to provide for our children.

With the money from the fundraiser, we will purchase the paint needed to paint the outside of our building and to weather-proof our ramp, patio, and railings. We will replace our washing machine, which broke months ago, and get our HVAC system cleaned. I also bought a few things we have needed since adding our new building, like step stools and extra thermometers.

Summer Camp # 1 Western North Carolina Explorers.

This week we started our first summer camp. We are learning about the plants, trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish, and mammals that make up our area.

They did observaltional drawings, nature sun catchers, learned how to identify poison ivy, and the WNC Nature Center came for a visit with some friends. We also had a lot of fun in the sprinkler.

Our Mountain Breeze Preschool graduation/moving up ceremony is one of my favorite days of the year.

We love being a part of these children's childhoods. We love being on their journey. So much happened from age 3 to age 5, and it is an honor to witness it.

We use the terms caterpillar and butterfly a lot. Our sweet three-year-olds come into their cozy classroom and learn how to trust a teacher and be in a group. We cuddle and grow all year. This is the caterpillar year.

Then they move up to the butterfly classroom, and they continue to grow and develop. We support each other and become life and kindergarten ready. Their next step is kindergarten.

At the ceremony, the caperpillar classroom is honored, they are given butterfly brooches and a flower necklace. The butterflies are given a book, a personalized diploma, and butterfly wings. Their butterfly wings symbolize they are ready to fly to kindergarten. After they are honored, they run to their family.

After the ceremony, we are able to connect with the families, socialize, celebrate, and eat.

It was exceptionally beautiful this year.
