Reflecting on the past month as we passed through lent also known as a time for spiritual fasting and into the celebration of Christ's resurrection this month.
Fasting is essential to knowing Christ and understanding HIS will over our lives, for how can we delight in His glory, if we do not understand His sufferings?
In sum, how much are we willing to surrender? How much are we willing to yield? Let us not be a people who simply want the things of God, but not GOD Himself! Amen.

For this I was born, to serve the Lord as his slave, and to serve the people of the Lord as their servant. That, will I do all my earthly life. I know who I am and what I am, because I know whose I am.
This is what the Lord said to me. At a time when no human can predict what the future holds for us, the church need the seeing ministry of prophetic preaching to guide us through these times and beyond. What we needed in the past, and what we need now and into the future is the "seeing" ministry of Prophetic Preaching. Anything else pulpitwise becomes hot air, irrelevant, religious talk that is too hollow to touch the lives of God's hurting people. Therefore, as preachers it behooves us to ask the Lord for contextual anointing to engender powerful kerugmatic discourses that are ambient to the realities facing the people on the pew. Without that power, I say again without reservation, preaching risks being irrelevant.
Voter apathy refers to a lack of interest in participating in elections by certain groups of voters. If God requires us to pray for people in elective offices, it follows that God wills for us to elect them into those offices. This, in my considered opinion, makes voting a Christian duty. It follows logically then, that voter apathy is a sin against your country and against God. Christians, especially those like myself of the evangelical-pentecostal type and others have been accused of "being too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good." Being of no-earthly good is a sure way to miss heaven. Register to vote, and do vote when that time comes. It is your Christian duty.
