LTA Summer camp 2026 has kicked off with Down on the Farm Week. Kids enjoyed planting seeds, making mud pies, sprinkler fun, crafts outdoors, and a trip to the park. The LTA organization is pleased to bring attention to the June Cannady Scholarship, established in honor of a remarkable individual. June Cannady was a devoted mother of eight children, predominantly raising them as a single parent. Her strong work ethic and compassion were defining characteristics. Raised during the Great Depression, June's parents instilled in her the values of perseverance and determination. Throughout her life, her faith provided resilience in the face of adversity.

June's generosity extended to her family, including multiple generations, as well as her pets. She was also an advocate for animal welfare, notably supporting Rescue Me Clifford, an organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for dogs.

Her legacy includes traditional Sunday gatherings, where her culinary skills were showcased through dishes like peach pie, rice pudding, and fried potatoes. Many of these recipes have been passed down, serving as a testament to her enduring influence. June also was skilled in quilting. Many of her loved ones have received a quilt made by her loving hands.

In recognition of her spirit, this scholarship is awarded to families with multiple children facing financial hardship. Contributions from family members made this scholarship possible.

LTA’s Summer Camp is kicking off next week!! This is going to be a fun summer. ☀️Ms. Lauren, Ms. Abby and Ms. Anna have been planning fun activities for the kids. WANTED: We could use the following items if you are a recycler: paper towel tubes, pringles cans, oatmeal containers with lids, peanut butter containers with lids, shoe boxes, bubble wrap, glass baby food jars with lids, large soup cans, or coffee containers with lids. Feel free to drop off cleaned items at the school. Other items needed: masking tape, shaving cream, bubble solution and we are looking for a water table. 🫧 We appreciate any donations to help us make this an enjoyable camp experience! 🦁🧡☀️🦋

LTA was humbled to be the recipient of memorial donations made in Dee Keller’s memory. This precious lady had the best smile and she would tell you whatever was on her mind. Mostly that was Jesus, her kids, grandkids, and great-grands. They meant everything to her. 💜

Dee had asked me what I needed for the kids. I told her we could use clipboards. One day while working at the school getting it ready to move into, Dee drops by and says she has something for me. I go to her trunk and she has clipboards! I think she bought every one Walmart had! She handed me a check and told me to keep on doing God’s work. What a blessing!

The loss of Dee Keller has left many broken hearts, but I have a feeling she would tell us, keep on doing God’s work whatever that may be.

With these precious funds, we will have a Dee Keller Scholarship for an elementary student with financial need. LTA is pleased to offer complimentary preschool through kindergarten screenings on Tuesday, May 26th, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Prospective families are encouraged to attend and meet our team, tour the school, and have their child screened. LTA provides full and part-time preschool, preK, and kindergarten programs. LTA's End-of-Year Celebration was filled with joy, heartfelt moments, delightful food, and abundant cheer. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the families who have entrusted us with their child's education. It is our privilege to partner with parents in fulfilling the scripture, 'Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.' Proverbs 22:6. We also acknowledge our appreciation for our dedicated teachers who deliver exceptional service daily; our volunteers whose unwavering commitment shares their gifts with students; our contributors who enable the provision of faith-based education in Clark County.
