Tomorrow we are thrilled to host another parent training opportunity partnered with Slippery Rock University on "How to Obtain Accommodations in Post-Secondary Institutions." This is free and open to all parents of IEP students who are considering college and would like to see what types of accommodations are available to them. Register today!

We are just $500 away from our goal! 🎉 If 20 amazing people donated $25, we would be there! 🙌

We are incredibly grateful to our generous corporate donors and to all the families and community members who have donated toys to make this day extra special! 🥹❤️

Now we’re asking our community to help us cross the finish line. Every donation helps support this event and ongoing events for these amazing children and their families throughout the year.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!

Join Laughlin Children’s Center for three engaging events designed to build understanding, strengthen connections, and celebrate the many ways people learn by experiencing, collaborating and creating.

📚 Experience Dyslexia: A Simulation
October 1 | 5:30–8:30 PM l @ Laughlin Children's Center
An interactive workshop that simulates some of the challenges people with dyslexia may experience.

🤝 Collaborating on School Teams with the PEAL Center
October 6 | 6:00–8:00 PM l @ Laughlin Children's Center
Learn practical strategies for strengthening collaboration among families, educators, and school team members.

🎨 Creative Minds: Celebrating Dyslexia through Art
October 26 | 4:00–6:00 PM l @ Laughlin Children's Center
An all-ages, hands-on art workshop with Sweetwater Center for the Arts.

Parents: Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a child must qualify under one of 13 specific disability categories and need specially designed instruction to receive special education services.

Do you know the disability categories and types of services your child can receive? If you want to learn more about this, attend our FREE parent training next week on Wednesday to learn more! You do not have to be a Mars family to attend!

This Saturday, cruise on by the Adams Township Community Park and show off your ride to support the Mars Rocket Fuel Cafe! The car cruise runs from 11AM-4PM! All proceeds will support the Mars Rocket Fuel Cafe, which is a student-run coffee shop located in the high school.

Our cafe combines special and general education students that serve hot, iced, and specialty coffees, along with muffins and pastries. Most of all, the cafe provides practical workplace, social, and life skills to all students!

We are THRILLED to present our 5th Annual A Very Special Fall Festival! Please join us for an afternoon of fall crafts, food, games, and activities!
