Hi! Are you looking for some help for your child this semester? I offer Tutoring, school readiness, Kindergarten readiness, home-school support, behavioral and family support services to families with Birth- Elementary age children. I also help students with public speaking and interview prep for school projects, pageants, career or confidence building. I can do online and/or in-person sessions. I am a North Carolina Teacher certified in Birth-Kindergarten and K-6 education and I have been teaching for 28+ years. I have experience teaching children with a variety of learning styles and developmental needs. I feel that a strong foundation in the early years is important for academic success. I am trained in LETRS and Science of Reading and am National Board Certified. I look forward to working with children and families to help them achieve their 2026 goals. I am currently taking new clients to start right away and finish the school year strong. I am also starting a summer sign up list. Please comment or message me to ask questions or schedule a session. One of the things I love about teaching is watching my students learn to read. They start out with almost no letter knowledge and over time they gradually aquire skills until finally they are reading. They are so proud of themselves and they are so excited for learning. Reading is truly a doorway to opportunity.

To the families of my students: I wanted to check in and see how you are doing. My family and I are ok. We do not have power or water, but feel blessed to be safe and with family. We are also grateful for friends that have helped us. I have so much respect for all of our emergency and utilities workers and I am grateful for how the community is coming together. I have missed my students and worry and pray for their safety. If you are able to, please respond to the Mars Hill Elementary post on Facebook so that I can see that you are ok. I also sent out a message on Classdojo. Also, let us know your needs and we will try to connect you. My cell service is very spotty and I only have internet when I go to town, but I will do my best to answer messages. Please know that your school family cares for you and we know we will get through this together. Stay safe! We are strong! Madison Strong!
