LAA111, or Challenges, is a course that all first-year students taken and is designed to provide an orientation to Mars Hill College, including the liberal arts curriculum, the college community and resources, and student life. LAA111 classes consist of 16-22 students and are team-taught by a MHC faculty member or instructor and a student “Challenger” assistant. This team begins working together during the summer SOAR days, and continues throughout Gateway Orientation, and academic year.
