What a great season the kids had - capped off with awards last night at the MD State Championship for Best Overall Effect and Best Color Guard and Second Place overall! Awesome!!!

All State Championship at Towson University. Staff and volunteers are GREAT! We thought we might get lucky and not have to play in the rain, but alas the rain came at 4:00pm during warm ups. Volunteers were ready with the raincoats! Despite the rain, our students played their hearts out! Right before they came on the field, the rain stopped and they performed beautifully. For those who missed the show, I’ll be sharing the link to the video in another post.

Great night for a parade! Back in Turf Valley after the pandemic. Hope to continue this tradition for many more years to come. Families came dressed in costume and marched along with the band. It was great fun and the band sounded GREAT!

Really nice to be getting back to more “normal.” band! Great rehearsal clinic with Dr. Chris Cicconi from Towson University yesterday. Modified Band festival coming up on March 24th featuring some cool literature by David Gillingham, Johan De Meji, Frank Ticheli and Pierre Leemans. Can’t wait for the first live performance of CB and SWE since March of 2020!

Very proud of the all the MRHS music groups for their amazing performances at the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival at Universal Orlando. So many first place gold awards and overall awards including the Grand Sweepstakes awards for best overall Choral, Band and Orchestra groups!
