Fun weather experiment for today! Fill a cup of snow, bring it inside and measure it. After it melts, measure how much water was actually in the snow. For typical snow in Baltimore, the ratio is 1" water to 10" of snow (Ratio = 1/10) So 1” of snow will melt to 0.1” of water. But with this snow being a colder, more powdery snow, I'm expecting even less water. I'm estimating a ratio of 1/15.

It's journal day for students in the Creative Writing seminar! Each student was able to pick out their own idea journal to keep for our activities!

Students who signed up to be research assistants for our horseshoe crabs met on Friday to learn how to take care of our little hatchlings! After a big breakfast of brine shrimp, this guy started swimming, but is still learning how to flip over.

The Book Fair is OPEN!

ANY published book can be purchased by students, and there are several books that have SIGNED copies available for purchase.
