Greetings Everyone,
Well I did it! I survived 20 Years of being a Family Child Care Provider. For those of you who who don’t know but this is not an easy profession. Let me break the myths of Working from Home:
1. It is a BUSINESS and must operate as such.
2. It is not easy to open your personal space up to use for your professional needs.
3. We are NOT babysitting.
4. We have more to balance than those working a 9-5 outside the home.
5. We have to attend trainings regularly and sometimes virtually while feeding your child or rocking them to sleep or changing their diapers.
6. We have to fight against the parents who try to get over on us.
7. We have things to do after we get off.
8. We work sick more often than we should because we can’t call off at the spur of the moment like parents can to the jobs they go because our jobs come to us.
9. Louisiana Providers are the least paid after Mississippi.
10. Because we love our profession and your children; we don’t want them all the time! We need breaks, vacations, sick days, bereavement time and mental health days to continue longevity in this profession.
11. We know when parents aren’t telling the truth.
12. We ARE NOT flunked of Childcare Centers; Family Child Care is a Childcare CHOICE!!!
This list can go on and on but after 20 years I have taken these myths and turned them into the purpose I became a Trainer/ Mentor/Coach to help PROVIDERS to Professionalize their business and to prepare Parents for the system of Big School. Through many test and trials I have branded my business, started other businesses and most importantly supported my family. The thing I’m most proud of is that I took a bet on myself and WON; when others counted me and this profession out.

Christmas, Birthdays, Recitals, Parties and Santa Photos…Oh My! and I was there for it all!!!
There is never a dull moment in this preschool. Not only are my babies spoiled but so are my parents.
Didn’t take photo’s of the Parent Party because we opted to relax and talk. But they potlucked, swapped gift cards, gave gifts and received gifts all while the children were watching a holiday movie. From December 12-18th Christmas celebration 2022 owes me NOTHING. Thank you parents for continued love and support. YOU ARE MY VILLAGE!
