Sabrina is famous! She detailed her experience working with Dr. Nakintu, where they have been using jackfruit in novel ways. Thanks to the NMU Chemistry labs, the nutrient profile and nutraceutical compounds have been identified in various products. When you see jackfruit used in wine, jelly, seed milk or hardtack biscuits, remember the many people who have worked to engineer the product!

Today we're celebrating our researchers at the 29th annual Celebration of Student Scholarship in Jamrich until 4p. Eight NMU students presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Pittsburgh earlier this month, who all have their posters displayed at Celebration too! Stop by and learn about their research, and the shutout Pittsburgh Penguins game we attended. There were $1 hot dogs, and the night's theme was Yacht Rock!

If you're one of the over 365 students participating in the Celebration of Student Scholarship, be sure to drop off your poster to the first floor of Jamrich tomorrow! We'll be there from 1-4p to direct you to the appropriate location for your poster to be displayed.

If you're doing a poster presentation for Celebration, be sure you submit it Monday! The easiest way will be through the Celebration website since there's a handy portal you can use. But if you prefer, you can also email it to Printing Services, or call them with any questions. Or DM us and we'll help too!

It's not a prank, Celebration is coming up fast! Keep your eyes peeled for the posters that are going up around campus to remind you to attend the event on Thursday the 17th, all day in Jamrich.

Abstract/statement of work workshops will be kicking off tomorrow with a Zoom session for students of all majors, at 2p. You can find the Zoom link on the Celebration website, and also on The Hub.

Next week there will be two workshops with similar content, but with a different slant. The Tuesday meeting at 10a in Jamrich 1313 will be for students in art and humanities, to help brainstorm ideas for statements and abstracts. On Thursday at noon in TSB 3803, science students will have the opportunity to meet with staff about their abstracts. All sessions will have plenty of time to work on your submission and ask any questions you may have about the Celebration of Student Scholarship.

Abstract submission has opened for the 29th annual Celebration of Student Scholarship, happening on Thursday, April 17th, all day in Jamrich Hall. The submission deadline is March 28th.
