Blaine Betts had us spellbound as he talked about growing up in the juvenile home and his step-father's stories from his time as sheriff and before. No powerpoint, no notes, no visual aids. Just storytelling at its finest. He had the whole group laughing, cheering, applauding. We were so lucky to be there.

Grand Island is filled but there's still room in almost all the other programs. Come and bring your friends, starting with this one tomorrow. Have you been hearing about Congo recently, what with all the news about Ebola? Karen Ogle has worked there and has stories from there and some of the many other interesting and sometimes dangerous places she worked during her 37 year career in the State Department. 10:30 Tuesday morning in the PWPL Community Room. See you there!
