In Fall 2010, a small group of Northern Michigan University students met with the support of the English Department and a bold plan: to provide an outlet for undergraduate writers, poets, essayists and artists. The name reflects our desire to illuminate and inspire the unseen talent Northern has to showcase. We the editors share a passion for well-written, distinctive work. Work like a beam of lig

ht in the darkness at sea: vivid, luminous, striking, and – ultimately – enlightening. We encourage all NMU undergraduates to submit, and everyone to read and enjoy.
