Elissa Macario '13 BS, '18 MAE and Cody Scanlon '11 BS, '18 MAE were both named 2026 Outstanding Educators at Negaunee Public Schools — Macario in 4th grade, Scanlon in 7th grade science. Both came back to NMU for a master's degree before returning to the classroom.

This week 55 years ago, NMU students voted down the Superior Dome. The fee was $20 a semester. 20 years later, they got it anyway, state-funded. Most of them have come around.

Blake Stenberg came to NMU not knowing where to start. He left as the commencement speaker. As of Saturday, he's one of ours.
