Beth Botts is completing her apprenticeship year while finishing the coursework required to earn her elementary teacher certification. Through hands-on classroom experience with Wyandotte Public Schools and academic preparation through Michigan University, Beth is building the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to lead her own classroom.

Dr. Eric Hoppstock, Superintendent of Berrien RESA and Talent Together Board Vice President, shares an important perspective from the field of special education.

Talent Together is helping address Michigan's educator shortage by creating pathways to teacher certification in the state's highest-need areas. Almost half of our Teacher Candidates are pursuing certification in special education.

Highlight on Apprentice Teacher Amy Clark at Plymouth-Canton Community Schools! Amy is finishing up her apprenticeship and coursework at Davenport University to receive her lower elementary teacher certification.

Through hard work and hands-on learning, Apprentice Teacher Seth Finley is nearing the completion of his apprenticeship with Tawas Area Schools!

While earning his Special Education- Learning Disabilities Teacher Certification through Western Governors University, Seth has balanced coursework with meaningful classroom experience, building the skills and knowledge needed to support students and make a difference in special education.
