Meet Talent Together alum Michael Theil, who is heading into his first year as a science teacher at Muskegon High School!

Before transitioning to teaching, Michael worked with kids and families through DHS and brought a background in law enforcement into his Apprenticeship Year. While apprenticing in science, his previous experience also supported his work with Muskegon High School's tech program.

"While working in Child Welfare, I cultivated a desire to help teens become successful adults. Teaching offers a new and more immersive way for me to help these youth grow, become successful adults, and challenge myself to become a better person, plus I get to immerse myself in my favorite subject—science!"

Pictured during his Apprenticeship Year, Michael is joined by his Mentor Teacher, Matthew Johnson, and co-teacher, Patrick Loughridge, alongside the electric vehicle their students built. 🚗⚡

We’re excited to see Michael continue his teaching journey and can’t wait to see the impact he makes on his students this year!
