It’s time and as good a time as ever to start sharing again. I honestly searched pencils in my phone and this photo came up from 2018! I don’t know which student wrote it, I just removed I found it on a desk during specials, and it’s a great example of how a pencil in the right hand, can make a lasting impact!

Year after year in our work with the most underserved schools around the country, pencils are the #1 requested item by teachers.

A while ago I mentioned I was going to stop making things pretty and start showing the real. So here is my newest “series” I’m calling Simple, Effective, and Fun. Simply stated ideas that are easy to implement, but your kids will have a blast, and they will definitely be learning!

For this one I used mini marshmallows, astrobrights paper, toothpicks, glue, and some thin markers to demonstrate lines and angles in geometry!

I had typed up a worksheet with terms and definitions but it wouldn’t print when I needed it so I had my kids write it instead! They didn’t mind at all and loved the activity! Their assessments show the learning stuck too!

Easy to implement, hands on, and fun activities for the win!

One more round of Glow What You Know day because it was honestly so much fun!

When I started doing themed days this was one of the days I really wanted to do but it was intimidating to start! While I’ve grown my collection of glow day things I learned all you really need are some highlighters and black lights, the rest is all bonus!

Okay, I have questions for those of you who decorate your doors all the time, how do you keep up with it? Do you save everything year to year? Where?

If you’ve been following me for a while you know my door has vinyl decorations that I don’t remove. Every so often I throw a simple table cloth over it for themed days, but other than that I keep it simple!

This year for Spring Into Reading we decorated our doors across the school. I actually had more plans than this but ran out of time!

The background is two rolls of wrapping paper from , I also bought glitter vinyl, mailing paper, and a box to create the treasure chest! The vinyl was also used for the letters! The borders were from (it was 99¢ for a big pack and I thought that was a great deal-I bought two but have leftover and these doors are BIG!) I also got a pack of foil cardstock at Michael’s and then cut out the fish, jewels, and coins on my and then used a lot of packing tape and hot glue to get it up there! I had the beads in my takeover closet, I’m hoping they can either be saved with this or be salvaged for the closet!

I want to save as much as possible but don’t know the best way. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I truly think scratch art is one of those things that takes any duller activity and makes it a little more fun! I was scrolling through pictures on my phone and came across this one and now I’m itching to pull it out again! I always try to keep a good supply because some days you just need to mix it up.

I find my best color/easiest to scratch paper on ! I’ll link it in my store front on Amazon if you are looking!

Weird fact: This picture was taken in mid October, realized I’m wearing the same sweater today 5 months later.

Confession:This Patriots fan hasn’t done Super Bowl Week since 2019.

A little bit of being bummed, a little bit of covid, and a little bit of life kept everything tucked away in the closet. That being said I am SO excited to bring some Super Bowl spirit into my class this upcoming week. I have some big sports fans so I’m really looking forward to it!
