Most schools treat robotics as an after-school club. At NEIA, it's a full course track built into the Innovation Studio, with dedicated faculty and lab time to match.

Sophomore Vishnu Bharath built NEIA's FIRST Robotics team from scratch, and in each of its first two seasons, the team qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship, ranking in the top 5% globally.

Thinking about NEIA for your family? Here's what families are actually choosing when they choose NEIA:

A curriculum built around what students care about. Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, and AI aren't electives, they're required, every year, starting in ninth grade.

Real work, not simulations. Students publish research alongside faculty, build ventures that outlast their founders, and compete at the national level in robotics.

A small school where students are known by name and by project, not just by GPA.
Serious depth, day or boarding. Open lab time and applied studio periods are part of the schedule, not an add-on after it.

Three national honors from USA Fencing this season: All-Academic Team, All-American Second Team, and an Honorable Mention in the national essay contest.

Rising junior William Crawford '28 wrote about a late-night train home after a bad competition and a friend's offhand text, "wow, you spend a lot of time fencing," which made him ask what pursuing something excellent actually costs. His answer turns on the root of the word sacrifice: to make sacred.

Not time lost, but time offered.

"Even though all the time I have given to fencing will not magically return, I can find comfort in how it was spent: not lost, but offered. That, perhaps, is the truest testament of love for the sport. Not that I have never questioned the cost, but that knowing the sacrifice fully, I would give it all again."

A lesson from the strip becomes a question about philosophy and purpose. That’s what it looks like when a student is encouraged to think across everything they do.

Congratulations, William! We can't wait to see where this curiosity takes him next.

Turns out students aren't the only ones who get a report card. 🦉

Niche released its 2027 rankings, and NEIA earned an overall A+ for another year.

We don't rank our students, and we don't think a ranking tells you much about what a school feels like from the inside. But it does mean something to be recognized alongside many independent schools in the Greater Boston area that have been doing this far longer than we have, when we are still in our first decade.
