Dear Marlboro Community,

You have hopefully heard by now that the Marlboro College campus has been sold, and will cease operations on June 30th, 2020. Due to COVID-19, the library has been closed since March and will remain closed to the public. This page will remain, but it will not be moderated.

Please note that we do not yet know if, or how soon, the new owners might offer public access to library materials or WiFi, so please plan accordingly. Once it reopens to the public, Marlboro residents can sign up for an account and access free WiFi at the small but mighty Marlboro Town Library, housed in the community center at 524 South Road, Marlboro, VT.

As we work to close our campus and library, we also wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation. Whether you stopped by to browse our stacks, work in one of our cozy nooks, wax nostalgic in the spot where you finished your Plan, or simply to peep our leaves, we thank you. It’s been a pleasure to share our knowledge, collection and this beautiful place with all of you--townsfolk, alumni and passers-by alike. We’ll miss you!

Wishing you well,
Your Marlboro College Rice-Aron Library Staff

Whatever you've been doing with them all semester, it's time to return your library books. The book drop is outside the middle floor so you can park nearby, but the building will remain closed to patrons. Please note the the following guidelines:

- Wear a mask while you are on campus, and wash your hands before and after your drop.
- Don't hang out, as much as we want you to.
- Email library@marlboro if the bin is overflowing.
- We are not accepting any donations. Please only return Marlboro College Library materials and interlibrary loan materials.
- Get in touch with us if you are unable to return to campus to return your library materials, and we'll figure something out together.

Thanks, and, as always, we really miss you.

Mochi is also tired of homework. But she knows if she gets stuck she can call on the librarians for help with research, accessing materials and finding resources, and that helps a little. You can, too, at [email protected].

Hello, from Sophie and Krystal,

Want to lose yourself in the illusion we're all still on campus AND get a ton of work done? Need a break from your quarantine office mates? Us too. That's why we'll be hosting Shut Up & Stay Home & Write - Zoom Edition every Friday through the end of the semester. Basically, it's the same as the SU&W we used to host in the library except, you know, we all stay home and you bring your own tea. Did you know Sophie is writing book one of a trilogy. She'll be so focused. Wow, how motivating is that?!

To join, click on the link and enter the password listed below, and I'll run the 20 minute (silent!) work sessions and 5 minute (not silent!) breaks.

On the host screen, we'll include a sign that lets you know if we're working or on break. And you'll be automatically muted when you join, so don't worry about interrupting a work session. Pop in for any amount of time!

Let us know if you have any questions, or want to SU&W at another time, too.

Considering hosting a weekly "Shut Up & Stay Home & Write." It's pretty much the same except, you know, we all stay home. 20 minute work sessions with 5 minute breaks. Any interest?

Hey, we miss you, and we're still here for you. Here's a gentle reminder that, while we still can't access the library building or physical collection, we CAN still help with research or tracking down electronic resources. Need something? Comment here, or email us at [email protected].

Library update: As of today, in response to stay-at-home recommendations from Vermont and Massachusetts, all library staff members are working from home for the foreseeable future.

Please email us at [email protected] and let us know how we can help you. As our service desk sign says, "Ask us anything." (but, you know, be nice)

COVID-19 library access update: The library is currently closed to visitors. We are open 9-4 W, Th, F (3/18-20) this week to the few students, faculty, and staff with permission to be on campus. After that, we will remain closed indefinitely. Look for more future information from us about services going forward.
