Many of my ADHD clients have found that making small, intentional adjustments to their environment can significantly improve their daily focus and overall well-being.
For instance, upgrading to a truly comfortable chair in your work space, surrounding your home spaces with meaningful items, choosing bedding that is supportive for good sleep habits, or setting up simple organizational systems can completely transform how you feel throughout the day.
Take a moment to evaluate your current surroundings:
Your sleep space: Do you have a comfortable, inviting place to sleep and recharge?
Your relaxation space: Is there a dedicated spot where you can step away and truly unwind?
Your focus space: Do you have a quiet, clutter-free area that helps you think clearly when it’s time to work?
If you feel like your surroundings aren't quite supporting you, making a few small tweaks can make a world of difference.
For some excellent, practical inspiration, this article from ADDitude features great tips and firsthand advice from readers on how to combat burnout and optimize your environment. I hope these ideas inspire you to design a space that truly works for you!

Do you struggle with estimating time or staying on top of your To-Do list?
For many individuals with ADHD, this challenge stems from "time blindness."
One of my clients' favorite strategies is to use a Time Timer, a tool designed to help you actually visualize the passage of time. By making time tangible, it helps you maintain focus and prevents the common pitfall of hyper-focusing on the wrong tasks.
If you're ready to move past the frustration of time blindness, let’s connect. Together, we can change how you "see" time and build a toolkit specifically designed for your brain. Reach out today to schedule a Discovery Call.

I hope you are having a great start to 2026!
I find it useful to look back at the prior year and remind myself of the accomplishments, big or small, that have occurred.
Why is this important? It has been shown in neurological studies that looking at successes before diving into challenges can have a positive affect on growth and learning.
That's why I usually start my coaching sessions by reviewing the wins that my client has had since the last time we met. More often than not, they are not even aware that there were any accomplishments at all until they dive in and start to recount there week.
Sometimes they are shocked by what they have actually achieved! This helps us to then look at their goals in a different light, with hindsight of what has been working for them, and with more awareness of how their learning can be applied going forward.
I hope that you will take some time to reflect on your successes so that it can help to inform you of all that you are capable of and guide you to more of what you can achieve.
All the best in 2026,
Debra

I talk with my clients a lot about how important self-care is - and how it can take on many forms.
Right now my self-care is working on a fun jigsaw puzzle!
