I hope all of you will do the same. Remember, the bigger goals you aim for, the bigger the obstacles and the louder the critics.
Listen to those who can improve you and ignore the rest. And always remember the world is made better by our actions, not our criticisms and complaints. Whether we win or lose, we're all capable of contributing to each other in countless ways...and that's the most important thing!
Always work hard, whatever size the stage we're on. And if any of us ever happen to wield power, use it for the good of all. That's the only good that comes from it.

1 day before election. Whatever the outcome, I hope we've inspired our community to get informed, to get active, to learn about our schools and how our democracy works! I've experienced the passion that each of us has...we've all spent endless hours talking, debating, thinking, arguing. And kudos...because that shows we care enough to show up!
Now I ask ppl to get involved, come to our board of meetings, share your voices and insights (kindly, calmly, with good faith). The hard work lies ahead...whoever sits on those seats has big tasks ahead of them. Let them know you support them and will do your part in ensuring that our community keeps moving ahead, keeps our eyes on the goals ahead. Creating good things so that our schools continue to shine and inspire hope for every child that steps into them! And meeting challenges head on with courage, patience, perseverance.

When you're in the company of such a great group of people as I have this past difficult (but full of learning) year, you can only smile from ear to ear!
Thank you, Fran. And thank you to all those (you all know who you are!) who got me this far on this interesting but fulfilling journey.
