Bright Lites Preschool

We are blessed to be following God's calling to partner with the community in educating children! We uphold Jesus as our King, our Teacher, and our Savior.

In Mark 16:15, Jesus urges the disciples to go into all the world and share His Good News. In Proverbs 22:6, Solomon reminds us to start children on the way they should go so they will not turn from it as they grow. Our central mission at Bright Lites Preschool is exemplified through these two verses. We want to connect young people and their families with Him through Christ-centered learning that

provides a well-rounded early childhood experience. We emphasize the importance of hands-on academics, authentic, play-based learning that enriches practical life experiences, and Spirit-lead character growth fostered by natural consequences with Godly correction. We want to walk alongside children and their families as they begin their formal education journey! This means we will pray for them and with them as we learn together! We will provide feedback on the children's spiritual, emotional, and academic growth.

Jesus is the reason for the season! We had a ‘snow’ball today celebrating Jesus’ birthday. We played stick the nose on Rudolph, went fishing for candy canes, knocked down cups with snowballs, wrapped presents, opened presents, had cookies and warm cocoa, and laughed. Thank you God for Jesus, your perfect gift for us!

Thank you God for all of our blessings! I don’t think any of the kiddos eat turkey on Thanksgiving so we made hats and they told us what they would rather have to eat😊. For our feast we made butter to go with homemade bread, had grapes, cheese, and popcorn. Yum!

Busy week and not many pictures but I wanted to share our beautiful turkey and what we learned from our Bible story about Gideon. We made torches and noise makers to cause a ruckus like Gideon and his small army used to defeat the Midianites. Gideon doubted what they could do but God showed him that when we trust and obey Him He will help us do great things!

November is cooking and baking month. This week we talked about what a recipe is and made fruit pizzas, and ants on a log. Fruit pizzas were the favorite. We celebrated Ms. Kenzie’s birthday with pumpkin pie and cool whip. The cool whip was the favorite! We learned about Jonah and the big fish, got some extra outside time with the last of the nice days, and made pretend pies in our pretend center.

Fun Fall party week! On Tuesday we used skittles to practice sorting colors. Thursday was party day. We got to wear our pj’s and for morning work we worked as a team to put a floor puzzle together. At centers we played and painted with pumpkin candy. We had a special snack, and then it was game time. Our Bible story this week was about how God took care of the Israelites with manna from Heaven so we pretended to gather manna but used candy corn and tweezers 😊. Then we had a candy corn relay race, played musical pumpkins (and practiced our letters), had an apple relay race using brooms, played Bingo, and made fall pasta necklaces. Thank you to our parents that sent treats in!

All things Fall! Last week we learned about our friend that starts with a Gg. This week we made snakes for the letter Ss, talked about our emotions and sorted colors. We opened the “Farm Stand” and made colorful leaves. We had smores and went fishing by our campsite. We’re also learning about Moses and how God will help us through anything He calls us to do!

We learned all about our friend that starts with a W this week, and we started learning about Community Helpers. We put our fingerprints on paper and got to visit with Chief of Police Ingles. He taught us that officers are there to help us and about gun safety. If you need a lock to keep guns safe at home please tell us and we can get you some.
We picked all of our Kindness fruit off our tree and had a pancake party to celebrate! We are going to learn about Patience in October.

Super fun week exploring our 5 senses! We had smelling jars and taste tests. We made shakers and our very own sensory touch mats. Did you know we can use all 5 senses when we make popcorn? You can hear it, see the bag rise, and smell it when it’s popping. It feels bumpy and tastes yummy!
We learned about the land God promised Abraham and built our own tent during inside recess.
We’ve had fun learning about the letters Jj, Oo, Rr, and Ll and our friends whose names start with those letters. Next week we’ll learn about Ww!

Not many pictures this week but you can see our fruit of the spirit tree has had some kindness fruit picked! When we catch our friends being kind they can pick a piece of fruit off and put it in the basket. The kids have decided that when the basket gets filled we should have a pancake party 😊

We loved some extra outside time this week! We celebrated our friend that starts with an R. We learned about how Noah obeyed God even though people mocked him and God’s promise is what the rainbow represents. We had fun practicing our letters using shaving cream and our light table.

This week we learned that God made people and that we have a choice to follow Him. We got to know more about our friend who’s name starts with a “J” and practiced recognizing all our friends names. We got creative when we were stacking cups and had some fun tasting apples, painting with apples, and making apple trees. 🍎
