Nonprofit boards need more than good intentions. They need people who can open doors, build relationships, and help move the mission forward. 🚀

MYTT is growing, and we’re looking for new board members to help guide our next chapter.

Mentoring Youth Through Technology is a youth STEM nonprofit serving the Greater Chicago area and Northwest Indiana. Through hands-on STEM education, robotics, technology programs, and career exploration experiences, we help young people build confidence, skills, and a bigger vision for their future.

As we continue to grow, we’re seeking mission-driven leaders who care about youth development, STEM equity, nonprofit leadership, and community impact.

This year, we’re especially interested in board candidates with experience or networks in fundraising and development, education leadership, public relations, marketing and communications, workforce development, finance/accounting/banking, government affairs, event planning, creative direction, and storytelling.

Board members serve as ambassadors, connectors, and resource-builders, helping us expand opportunities for youth and strengthen the communities we serve. 💡

AI can help us work faster, find answers, and make decisions. But how do we make sure we’re still thinking and choosing for ourselves?

That’s the conversation at our next MYTT Parent Café: Raising Thinkers in the Age of AI.

We’ll explore how adults and young people can use AI with confidence while protecting something technology shouldn’t replace: our ability to think critically, exercise judgment, and make our own decisions.

💜 Engineering Her Dreams
Designed for girls interested in exploring robotics, engineering, and technology through hands-on learning in a supportive and empowering environment.

💻 Young Engineers
A program for middle and high school students who want to build, code, and innovate using Raspberry Pi while developing real-world engineering and problem-solving skills.

What a night! 🎉 The Fueling the Future Gala brought our whole community together for our young people and the futures they are building for the community.

Thank you to everyone who filled Chicago Gaelic Park with your support and love. We are beyond grateful. Congratulations to our incredible honorees, Yohan Fernando, Toni Preckwinkle, Bonita Estelle, and Kristina Gray. And a huge thank you to our keynote speaker, Jeffery Beckham Jr., for words that lit a fire in the entire room. 🙌

To Bright Star Community Outreach, ComEd, Clayco, and every guest who showed up for our students, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ✨ You are the reason the next generation of builders, coders, and leaders keeps dreaming bigger. 🚀

And the truth is, nights like this change lives. The celebration, the purpose, and the amazing people are all in one room, believing in our kids. Even better, we still have opportunities to help fuel the future and be in the building by this time next year.

This summer, see exactly what real STEM looks like.

At MYTT, students will not just learn about STEM. They will build it, code it, test it, and bring it to life. MYTT offers hands-on robotics programs for every age group, including Bot Builders for ages 6–8, Junior Engineers for ages 9–12, and Titan Engineers for ages 13–18. Each program gives students the chance to explore robotics, coding, engineering design, teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world technology skills in a fun, supportive STEM lab environment. Registration closes June 12. Sessions begin June 13.

For years, MYTT has been quietly doing the work. Putting technology in the hands of young people who did not always have access to it. Building programs that show kids ages 6 to 18 that STEM is not just a subject; it is a future.

Creating spaces where the next generation of engineers, developers, and innovators can see themselves clearly for the first time. 💡🔬

None of that happens without people. The mentors who gave their time and knowledge. The partners who believed in the mission before it had momentum. The sponsors who showed up. The families who trusted us with their kids. The community members who spread the word, opened doors, and never stopped asking how they could help. 🤝❤️
