Former and current students of Cynthia Spalding Help me remember the lessons you took from me and how it helped your riding!

Teaching is both rewarding and at the same time difficult. When you watch a student progress through big difficulties, and then hear them complain that they haven't made headway.
Ok. Let's think about this.. last year you couldn't sit the trot, keep him on the bit or tell which lead you were on without jumping forward and looking at his legs!
This year you have the trot work, getting the piaffe, half passes are there, and now sometimes you miss the count in your four time changes! Wow....probably just need to get a new trainer, right? Now that you ride well enough to get a second look from them!?
How many times have we seen this? It happens less if you make them keep a journal..and be sure to video along the way.

Thanks for the great lesson last night! Maya LOVED it. She said she learned more in one lesson then in all her other lessons combined! She's soooo happy! Thanks for being you!

When a past student becomes your inspiration.. when they write this.

"For me, hearing horses has more to do with my own self-awareness, than it does with trying to find the horses’ voice.

Maybe the simple truth of it all, this participation in partnership practice of horse-humans being, is so hard to believe because it seems so counter-intuitive to what is believed to be true. I believe in horses and humans in partnership. How that partnership is created, is up to the partnership itself.

The partnership is where the magic happens. The magic is a black swan of unknowing, where fear is an unfolding, lifelong lesson about how everything that left couldn’t stay, and how everything that stayed couldn’t leave, and how every miracle is a reflection of life when the time that’s left isn’t as long of a journey as you’d like it to be."

Got this one today!
"my lesson kids were like "holy cow you NEVER answer the phone during a lesson!" I just said when the great spaldini calls, you answer! lol"

Thank you!! You’re EXCELLENT at working w/ the rider at where they’re at, & the horse where they’re at...that’s truly a rare gift! My goal was to stay on, to stay hooked no matter what, & to help my mare-even just a little... With your help, we did it!!🤗

Was looking through old horse pictures and ran across Niles' stack - what a blessing to have had a horse trained by you!

From a student, Mimi.

I rode today with the amazing trainer Cynthia Spalding today in her Colorado Clinic. She made me understand what I was doing wrong and helped me to understand how my new horse is different from my last. I send her many thanks!!!!

From a former student.

"I was cleaning out my office today and found a training journal that you suggested I keep when I first met you, September 2006. It's when I had Zero, the black quarter horse. Wow. You need to read it, you will smile ear to ear! One entry starts like this....
"Today I felt like a complete fumbling idiot. I was all over the place. Cindy didn't call me a complete fumbling idiot but she did say "Poor horse". Exactly! When someone finally put it to me that way I realized it wasn't all about me and I started to concentrate on Z. Amazing. We were able to canter both directions with no bucking and sawing of the reins. She make so much sense!!"

Distance means nothing in this time of technology! To all my former and current students...virtual live time lessons and coaching really works!
For the past couple of years I have been keeping up with my out of state students with virtual lessons and virtual coaching at shows! Whether you use Pivo, Pixio, Pixem, or Facetime, you can have live feedback as if we were in the same ring.
You can have coaching at shows as well!
Now, there is no reason to go it alone!
The cost is much less than traveling to a clinic, or paying travel expenses for me to come to you! It also eliminates the problem of filling a clinic to make it affordable! The cost for a 45 minute session is $70.
You can contact me to see which device will work best for your situation!

I got this message from a former student today..nice to hear from old friends!
" Frenchy looks simply spectacular - what power he must have! I had contact with a former colleague of yours today. Gunnar Ostergaard paid a short visit to the stable where I keep my horses. We had a wonderful chat. He asked me to send his best regards to you. (I may never wash the hand that touched the hand. . . )."
