The official mission of the NJROTC program is to instill in students at United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.

This is how we do it:
1. Promote patriotism, informed civic duty, and respect for constituted authority.
2. Leadership: Develop self-discipline, personal honor, self-reliance, and leadership potential.
3. Service: Encourage active participation in community service and an understanding of national security.
4. Development: Support high school graduation and promote healthy, drug-free, active lifestyles.

These are the results:
Graduation & Attendance
Multi-year cadets (2+ years) demonstrate lower absenteeism, fewer disciplinary suspensions, and higher on-time high school graduation rates relative to peers.

Post-Secondary Pathways
Over 60% of program graduates pursue higher education or vocational technical training. Roughly 13% to 20% choose military enlistment.

Enlistment Advantage
Cadets completing 3+ years who enlist enter active duty at an advanced pay grade (E-2 or E-3), resulting in higher starting pay and a 5% lower first-contract attrition rate. BEING IN THIS HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM DOES NOT REQUIRE MILITARY SERVICE!

Scholarships & Aid
Cadets gain direct competitive advantages for 4-year Navy ROTC college scholarships, military academy nominations, and specialized grants (e.g., Civilian Marksmanship Program).

The Titan Navy supports many pathways for our students. While NSIs can not recruit, we can offer guidance and opportunities for young Americans to consider if the military is a possible path for consideration.

We are pleased to announce that this school year, we will host ANY McDowell High School Student to our Parris Island Experience-April 19th-23rd.

You don't have to be in the Titan Navy but you do have to produce a physical, have a permission slip, and bring some required items. If you are a cadet, this is a great experience. If you are a Titan and you want to see what it is like, here is your chance.

***STUDENT REQUIREMENTS***
-Your student must be enrolled in McDowell High School or McDowell Connect.
-The only 8th graders (or age equivalent) that may be allowed to attend must be in the NJROTC program.
-Your student must have a physical and paperwork submitted. These details can be coordinated with the NSIs.

If you are NOT a MHS cadet, please email the NSIs if you are interested:
