Let’s talk about our homeschool classes starting next week! If you’re a homeschool parent (or looking into homeschooling), and would like support from a teacher, Atlas is here for you!

We are launching two classes this fall:

Mondays: Primary Elementary (roughly grades 1st - 3rd), 10:15-12:00

Wednesdays: Upper Elementary (roughly grades 4th-5th), 10:15-12:00

Our homeschool classes meet once per week! Students get personalized literacy and/or math support alongside collaborative, hands-on projects that build confidence and creativity! It’s like group tutoring, but way better!

Summer always goes by way too fast….

For many in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area, school is back in session.

This means that we are one week away from the start of our classes and our open house!!

Settle this debate for us! 👀

Do you work on the weekends? Is it by choice, or does your job require it?

We’re curious—are weekends actually your time off, or are you answering emails, working shifts, catching up on things, or squeezing in a few hours whenever you can? 😂

Our family likes a good balance. We love what we do, and when you truly love your job, sometimes it doesn’t really feel like work. We also believe there’s so much more to life outside of work—and making time for the people and things we love is just as important.

When weekend mornings are nice, sometimes sitting outside with a little fresh air, a cup of coffee, and catching up on a few things doesn’t feel like work at all. ☀️☕️

Maybe that’s the key for us—finding a balance where work fits into our life, rather than letting work become our whole life.

At the beginning of the summer, we decided to take a leap of faith and open Atlas Learning Collective.

We started Atlas because we believe education is about so much more than academics. It’s about nurturing the whole child, creating a place where kids feel supported and encouraged, and helping each student discover their unique purpose and gifts.

This journey has come with plenty of highs and lows, but through it all, we’ve continued to trust God’s plan and the path He has for Atlas.

Now, we’re excited to celebrate this next chapter with a Ribbon Cutting! 🎉

Let’s talk Enrichment Classes! 📚✨

Does your kiddo love to read? Our Fall Book Club might be the perfect fit!

Students will read The One and Only Ivan together week by week, using the story to explore meaningful themes like empathy, friendship, and standing up for others—all while building connection through thoughtful discussion.

📖 A copy of the book is provided
🏠 At-home reading assignments between classes
💬 Meaningful discussion and activities
🗓️ Session 1 begins September 1 and runs for 8 weeks!
⏱️ 6-7:30PM

If your child loves a good story and enjoys sharing their thoughts, we’d love to have them join us! 💙

We were fortunate enough to receive a donation for a student scholarship.

If you have already registered or plan to register for any of our Homeschool, Early Childhood or Enrichment Classes (session 1 or 2) by August 31st, your name will be entered for a chance to win a scholarship for your child (valued at $270).

Scholarship can be used towards one (1) of the following:

✨ Free month Early Childhood Class (2 days/week)

✨ Discounted Early Childhood Class (4 days/week)

✨ Free 2 months of Homeschool Classes

✨ Enrichment Class (Session 1 or 2)

We introduced our Make Your Mark wall over the summer.

Some kiddos got the chance to put their hand print on the wall during some of our workshop classes.

What is the meaning behind it you might ask?

Every child who walks through our doors becomes part of our story.

A special tradition where each child gets the opportunity to leave a colorful handprint on our wall. It’s a simple reminder that every child matters, every child belongs, and every child leaves a lasting impact on our community.

As our Atlas family grows, so will our wall—a collection of handprints representing the curiosity, creativity, friendships, and memories made here.

We can’t wait to add more this fall!

We want Atlas to feel like a second home for our families. 🏡

A place where kids feel comfortable, curious, and excited to learn—and where families know they’re always welcome.

We were so excited to receive some free books from our recent book fair to add to our growing collection! We love filling our space with books that kids can pick up, explore, and fall in love with.

We also envision a place where we can have small groups, family meetings and small events.

Little by little, we’re making Atlas feel more and more like home. ❤️
