We are hosting a Substitute Training Day!

⏰ 12:30–3:00 PM

This training will give you a practical look at what it means to substitute at Ambleside. We’ll cover our approach to education, classroom expectations, daily procedures, and what you can expect when you step into an Ambleside classroom.

An associate’s degree or higher is preferred, though we also welcome those with other relevant education or experience to reach out.

If you have ever thought, “I could probably help with that,” this is a great opportunity to learn more and consider becoming part of our substitute team.

We were grateful to welcome Pastor Bob Pankey from Whittington Church for chapel yesterday!

Pastor Pankey shared the story of the Good Samaritan and challenged our students to think about the difference between being reactive and proactive, a meaningful connection to our September Habit of the Month: Proactive.

What does it look like to be proactive at school, at home, at church, and in our relationships? Sometimes it’s as simple as seeing a need and meeting a need, offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, noticing someone who is left out, or praying for a friend.

We don't have to do something big to make a big difference in someone's life. Small, faithful acts of love can make a lasting impact.

Our 6th and 7th grade students also recited John 1:1–10, “The Word Became Flesh,” reminding us of Christ, the Light who came into the world.

Parents Go to School Night! 🎒📚

One of the ways we support and partner with parents and teachers is through our campus meetings throughout the school year. Our first gathering is Parents Go to School Night, a special opportunity for parents to step into their child’s classroom and experience an Ambleside education from a student’s perspective.

Parents get to sit in the desks, participate in lessons, experience narration, and get a glimpse of what makes a living education so special. It is more than simply hearing about what happens in the classroom; it is an opportunity to experience it for themselves.

We are grateful for parents who desire to understand and participate in their child’s education. At Ambleside, we believe that the partnership between parents and teachers is an important part of helping each child flourish as a whole person.

We had such a wonderful evening learning, laughing, and experiencing school together!

A wonderful beginning to our Middle School Mentor Program! đź’™

Last Friday, our middle school students and their mentors gathered for our first mentor meeting of the school year. It was a great afternoon of snacks, conversation, laughter, and getting to know one another, and a meaningful first step toward the relationships we hope will grow throughout the years.

The middle school years bring many social, spiritual, and academic challenges as students continue discovering who they are becoming. Our desire is to surround them with mature Christian mentors who will inspire, encourage, hold them accountable, and simply enjoy them as they walk through these years, alongside their parents and teachers.

We are grateful for the men and women who have said yes to investing their time, wisdom, and lives in our students. Our hope is that these relationships will become a source of encouragement, friendship, and godly guidance as our students grow into the people God has created them to be.

What a joy to begin this journey together! đź’™

We were blessed to have Parker Robbins from Cornerstone Church with us for chapel today!

Parker shared from Luke 10, where a man asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus answered with the story of the Good Samaritan, a story that challenged His listeners to look beyond differences and see the person in front of them as someone worthy of love and mercy.

Our students were reminded that loving our neighbor and showing God’s love should never depend on who someone is, where they come from, or how different they may be from us. We are called to love because God first loved us.

And what a beautiful reminder of the Gospel: God has shown us mercy and restored our relationship with Him through Jesus. “For God so loved the world…” ~John 3:16

We were also blessed to hear our 8th and 9th grade students recite “Pied Beauty” by Gerard Manley Hopkins, a beautiful reminder to praise God for the wonder, variety, and beauty found throughout His creation.

Because of Jesus, we know that God's love is not based on what we deserve. It is freely given, and we are called to extend that same love and mercy to others.

Helen Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, filled her world with great books, rich language, and beautiful ideas. Charlotte Mason understood this same principle: children grow through living ideas, noble thoughts, and beautiful language. At Ambleside Schools, we trust that the books our children read today are shaping the minds, hearts, and imaginations they will carry into the future.
