A reminder that we are aware that dress code orders from Land's End have been delayed in shipping and that our dress code supply at the Saints Shop is low.

Due to this, GRADES 6-8 here at St. Joseph School and GRADES 6-8 at Xavier Middle School (LaSalle and Regis Campuses) will have a grace period for dress code polos until September 8th in the requirement of the cross and halo logo on shirts until TUESDAY, SEPT. 8th (unless communicated otherwise).

Students are still expected to be in a navy, white, gray, or light blue polo shirt with logos no larger than a quarter.

NOTE: This grace period applies only to Grades 6-8. It does not apply to Xavier High School.

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: KRISTEN PERREAULT (5th-8th Grade Religion)

Our next teacher we're excited to introduce is no stranger to our St. Joseph/Xavier Catholic Schools community! Kristen Perreault has served as the 6th-12th Grade Coordinator of Adolescent Faith Formation for St. Joseph Catholic Parish and School, Marion for the past five years. As she moves to part-time in that role, she is excited to teach 5th-8th Grade Religion here at St. Joseph School. Kristen and her husband, Bill, have seven boys: Tristen (X18), Adrien (X20), Elijah (X22), Liam (X24), Nathaniel (X27), Ian (X30), and Simon (X34/5th grader here at St. Joseph). Additionally, this will be Kristen's 10th year directing our musical! Please help us welcome Kristen to her new role as a Charger!

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: STACY KARR (Interventionist & Instructional Coach)

Stacy was born and raised in Iowa City, graduating from West High and the University of Iowa. She taught 4th & 5th Grade for 10 years in Florida and Iowa. Most recently, she served as an Induction Coach with Grant Wood AEA, supporting new teachers in surrounding school districts. She and her husband, Griffin, have two children: Levi (9) and Brooklyn (4) -- as well as two dogs (Luca & Leo). Please help us extend a warm Charger welcome to Stacy and her family!

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: KIMBERLY GRAULEIN (5th Grade ELA/Strategies)

Kimberly Graulein has 10 years of experience teaching middle and high school English Language Arts and has spent most of that time teaching in North Carolina before moving to Iowa in 2021. Most recently, she has worked as an Education Manager for Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa, supporting students through financial literacy and career readiness initiatives. Kimberly and her husband, Derrick have three children: Logan (11), Naomi (8), and Penny (5). Please help us welcome Kimberly to the St. Joseph School and Xavier Catholic Schools family!

We are thrilled to introduce Bailey Swanson who will begin her first year of teaching here at St. Joseph's! Bailey graduated from Coe College with a degree in elementary education and is grateful for the opportunity to start her career in Xavier Catholic Schools. The Saints Shop will be open tonight from 4-7 p.m.

We will be open this Thursday, August 13, from 4–7 p.m. Please note that we are still waiting for a new shipment of dress code apparel to arrive. No new apparel has arrived since our Back-to-School Sale. We currently have limited youth sizes available.

K–5 Students:
Students are not required to wear polos with the Halo Cross. They may also wear solid polos in XCS-approved colors.

Middle & High School Students:
Students are required to wear Halo Cross polos, which must be purchased through XCS or Lands’ End.

This year's Dancing with the Saints will once again support our Teacher Impact Fund and Xavier Alum and Season 11 dancer Maggie Roling is getting an early start to her fundraising efforts with something that will make an immediate impact.

For $25-$100, you can help fill a special back-to-school basket for your favorite St. Joeseph teacher. Baskets will be hand-delivered to teachers at the start of the school year.
