If that's you, The Crittenden County Master Gardeners program might be just the place for you!

🌼 Master Gardener Students receive intensive horticultural training, volunteer in their own communities by teaching others about gardening, beautifying public spaces, and participating in many other projects.

👩‍🎓 There's a graduation celebration upon completing coursework.

🏫 Our next Crittenden County Master Gardeners training class will begin in October and the exciting news is that we are running the in-person and online training concurrently again this year!

The Roots 2 Reentry Program at the East Central Arkansas Community Correction Center offers women at the facility an opportunity to learn gardening and agricultural skill through weekly lessons and hands on work, as well as prepare them for life after their release. About 25 women have participated and have harvested more than 2,500 pounds of fresh produce from a quarter-acre garden planted in March. The program is a partnership between the facility and the Crittenden County Extension Office. KASU reporter, Lexie Burns, spoke with Katrina Wallace, the agriculture natural resources agent at the Crittenden County extension office, about the program. I have to do a Shout Out to the Marion Post Office project leader, Laura Bell. Despite high unattended grass this summer, Laura has led in taking care of one of Marion's high traffic areas. Laura is there trimming and cutting! In addition to, Laura works with the other leaders to make sure all projects are tip top. Here's to you, Laura!
