🐻 WELCOME BACK, MARION BEARS! 🐻
We are excited to welcome our students and families back for another great year at Marion School! Our Open House is Monday, August 24, from 1:00–7:00 PM, and we hope you’ll stop in, meet your teachers, visit classrooms, and get ready for a wonderful school year.

Open House Highlights:
📸 Required school pictures, student registration, lunch and other payments, and Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications will all be available in the Big Gym.
🌭 Stop by the Small Gym from 4:30–6:00 PM for a hot dog meal served by our Marion School Board Members. While supplies last!
🔢 Locker numbers will be posted throughout the school so students can find their lockers and get comfortable before the first day.
🎒 Thanks to the Marion Business & Professional Group, school supplies will be provided for all students! Elementary supplies will be in classrooms, while Middle & High School supplies will be in lockers.
💻 Middle & High School students: Pick up your school device from Mrs. Timmerman and receive your student schedule from Mrs. Yusella.

Summer Bear Care is finishing up for the summer tomorrow...Over the past few weeks they've taken some fun trips to Palisades State Park and into Sioux Falls for a bicycle tour...Lots of fun and learning taking place with this program!

Heads up- dual credit courses start Aug 24th for most colleges/universities! If you are taking a dual credit or online course, please stop in next week to pick up your laptop and sign into your courses. Don't forget your laptop rental fee!
Mrs. Yusella’s office hours will be Tuesday/Wednesday (Aug 18/19) 9:00am-1:00pm and will be available to hand out laptops, help with the sign in process, last minute dual credit registrations, and preview high school schedules. Please reach out with any questions or concerns ([email protected])!

Reminders for the dual credit program:
☑️Pay attention to add/drop/withdraw dates outlined by your institution
☑️All tuition/fees are paid by the student/parent
☑️Tuition for dual credit courses are due within the first couple weeks of class (MHS does not have access to this). Materials/fees needed for other online courses are typically sent to MHS later and students/parents will be notified of these charges
☑️Students and/or parents will need to log in to their institution’s account to view and pay bill

📝 Registration: Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are so excited to have our high school volleyball apparel store available for our players, families, and supporters! There are three different designs to choose from, so there’s a little something for everyone. All orders will be shipped directly to each customer, making it easy and convenient. We truly appreciate everyone’s support of our volleyball program and our athletes! 🏐💙 🏐💙

As we continue updating and organizing the Marion School, we've cleaned out our trophy cases and have a collection of older trophies (dating from the 1940s through the 2000s) that we're ready to part with.

If you, your family, or someone you know may have an interest in these pieces of Marion School history, you're welcome to stop by and take a look. The trophies will be available in the small gymnasium through Monday, August 24.

The trophies do not include “major” plaques, trophies, awards (District, Regional, Conference, or State awards are not being given away). Trophies are predominantly from local events (i.e. the Hawks invitational, or the Beresford invitational, etc.) and also include some JV awards.

We'd love to see these memories find their way back to those who maybe helped earn them!

We have been made aware that some families experienced issues accessing a few of the registration links. To avoid any confusion, we have removed the original post and replaced it with updated information.

If you are having trouble accessing the registration forms, you can also find them on our website at marion.k12.sd.us by selecting Registration from the menu at the top left of the page. Paper copies of all registration forms are also available in the school office for anyone who prefers to complete them by hand or is having trouble accessing them online.
