Our hearts are sadden of the passing of Gary Parks. Sympathy and prayers to the family.

Creal Springs- Gary David Parks, age 57, of Creal Springs, passed away at 3:12am on Monday, September 2, 2019, at his home in Creal Springs.

Gary was born in Chicago on November 30, 1961, the son of Carl D. and Kay F. (Wilt) Parks. He had worked as a prison guard at the federal prison for many years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his daughter- Hillarie Parks of Henrietta, Oklahoma
Son and Daughter-in-law- Kyle and Melissa Parks of Creal Springs
Six grandchildren- Hunter, Logan, Avery, Tori, Sofie, and Garyn
Brother and sister-in-law- Rick and Terri Parks of Marion
Sister and Brother-in-law- Rhonda and Ernie Salazar of Indiana
Nieces and Nephews- Cassie McKinney, Christa Parks, Amanda Salazar
Austin Salazar, and E.J. Salazar
Several Great Nieces

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Chris Cutsinger officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.

Please put the family of Firefighter Frank McCree and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Frank is on a ventilator in Barnes Hospital and unresponsive. Frank lost his lower leg to cancer many years ago during his firefighting career and the battle remains.

Geri Ann Glasco, daughter of Gerry and Vickie Glasco, formerly of Johnston City, was tragically killed in an automobile accident in Louisiana early Thursday morning.
