EPIC Day at FMU is well...EPIC! Philip Fulmer and his fellow professors do a tremendous job with these events for high school Juniors and Seniors. Check it out!

The event will be in October, but registration ends Sept 28. Registration Link will be in the comments.

This will be SO fun! I would go just for the liquid nitrogen ice cream sundaes 😋 But seriously, the professors do some incredibly fun demos with the kids. They feed them lunch. There's lots of talk about physics and engineering. It's a great school day!

Did you know that course requirements for high school graduation and college admission are not the same?

Be sure to check out the admissions requirements for the schools your student hopes to attend. Then make sure those courses are included in your student's plan of study for high school.

🎉Info for SC graduating seniors🎉

Did you know that there is a scholarship program for students attending a SC technical college that covers any remaining tuition, fees, and required course expenses after applying all other scholarships and grants?

In an effort to address workforce shortages in the state, the SC Wins Scholarship assists students in earning a professional certificate, industry l-recognized credential, diploma or degree from one of the 16 South Carolina technical colleges.

To qualify, the student must:
📚 Be a South Carolina resident
📚 Be enrolled in an eligible program
📚 Meet one of the following criteria:
- Be employed
- Take a financial literacy course offered at the technical college or
- Complete 100 hours of voluntary time contributing to a nonprofit or public service organization

Now is the time for graduating seniors to be applying for full-ride scholarships. Most applications for these higher level scholarships will be due before the holidays. Most of these are school specific and some are open to all students.

Here is an example. The McNair Scholarship is offered to a select number of students at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. This scholarship covers all tuition, housing, meals, books, and even a semester studying abroad. Application link and more info may be found in the comments.
