No questions. No signup. Just good food and a team that cares.

We’ll have 200 meals available — first come, first served.

Weather Update: On Monday, February 2, 2026, McDowell County Schools will have a Remote Learning Day for students. Staff, please be on the lookout for more information from your supervisor.

We appreciate our partners at NCDOT who have been working throughout the storm to clear our roadways, but we recognize that with frigid overnight temperatures, we will need more time to clear our roadways and adequate time for the McDowell County Schools Auxiliary Services Team to clear our schools.

Parents, we are closely monitoring the weather and the possibility of additional inclement weather midweek. Should we continue to miss school, we will adjust our school calendar to make February 13, 2026, a regular school day rather than a teacher’s workday. That said, we will monitor the progress of our roadways and provide you with an update on school operations by 4 pm on Monday.

Donation Needs – Help Us Serve Breakfast & Lunch

As we continue to support unsheltered individuals during Code Purple, we are in need of a few food donations to help provide breakfast and lunch for our guests.

Current needs include:

🥖 Bread
🍓 Jelly
🥪 Sandwich meat
🧀 Cheese
🥣 Oatmeal
🍪 Pop-Tarts
🥤 Drinks

If you’re able to help, donations can be dropped off at 804 State St.

Due to the onset of what has been forecasted as a significant ice storm, frigid temperatures, likely treacherous roadways, and the possibility of widespread power outages. McDowell County Schools will be closed for students on Monday, January 26, 2026, and on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Monday and Tuesday will be annual leave days for staff.

We will continue to monitor this storm and provide an update by 4 pm Tuesday.

We urge you to use caution this weekend and stay safe.
