TIPS FOR SELLING ITEMS AT HERF

**If you have a set of books - please include a list of the books in the set and attach the list on the front or back of the stack/box. That helps us keep the set together and helps potential buyers see what is in the package without taking it all apart and not getting it back together.

**Use ziplock bags for sets of items being sold together.

**Use yarn to wrap around and then tie - for sets of books. (Be sure to wrap the yarn from left to right AND top to bottom…to keep the set together.)

**If you have a set of items in a box, consider wrapping saranwrap around the top. Then shoppers can view what is inside without losing pieces.

**For items about $75 or more, consider adding your phone number so a potential buyer can text/call you with questions.

**Be sure the barcode is clear and easy to scan.

**If the item is missing any pieces, pages, or has writing in it, please label it accordingly. Please be honest.

**Add your consignor number to the outside of each box/tub that you bring to the sale, especially if you want your boxes back. Then we can put your unsold items in them after the sale.

**Sort your books by subject before bringing them to the sale. This significantly helps us organize the gym.
We will be sorting them into these categories:
Math
Language arts
Science
History/Geography
Electives
Early Childhood/PreK
Children's Books
Games/Puzzles
Toys

TIPS FOR PRINTING and ATTACHING TAGS

**Print tags on white cardstock; no dark colors. It’s best not to use white paper. (Cardstock is best so the barcodes do not bleed and are easy to scan.)
**Be sure the barcode is clear and easy to scan.
**Must use a printer with normal toner (no dot matrix printers)
**When printing, make sure the barcode is very clear and has no bleeding
**Carefully tape tags to items DO NOT cover up the barcode.
**Name brand tape is best to prevent damage to the item when the tag is removed.
