All students are required to have an MCS issued Chromebook and charger. This is a one-time fee of $40 for 6th grade, $28 for 7th grade (new to MCS), and $14 for 8th grade (new to MCS). This is insurance to help offset the cost of any damages a student may acquire the three years he/she uses the chromebook. A chromebook that is purposely destroyed will result in full payment as it cannot be repaired (this cost is $469). We truly encourage students to treat their chromebooks with the utmost respect. Taking good care of it will result in it lasting 3 years. We encourage them to never share the chromebook or charger. Never under any circumstances give out their password or email information. They may only use MCS wifi at school. If they are caught using another wifi or hotspot they will lose chromebook privileges. A student that is found to be looking at inappropriate material will also lose privileges. Payments and all paperwork must be turned in before a student will receive their chromebook.
