Francis Marion had an amazing week — and what a way to slide into Thanksgiving Break! 🍂🦃

We hosted our first-ever 2-day robotics competition right here on campus, welcoming 40 middle and high school teams from across the state. Schools traveled from Washington, Crenshaw, Morgan, Walker, Jefferson, and more to compete. This event was made possible through our partnership with The UWA Black Belt STEM Education Institute.

Then on Thursday, we wrapped up the week with our FBLA Local Business Spotlight, celebrating and supporting local entrepreneurship in Perry County. Our students honored Simply Unique and The Print Shop as part of our 2025 Support Local Businesses Campaign. 🛍️✨

It’s been a week full of learning, leadership, community, and opportunities — exactly what we want for our students. Proud of the work happening at Francis Marion! 💙🐏🧡

This month, FMS FBLA is proud to highlight two incredible local businesses that represent the heart of entrepreneurship in Perry County!

💇‍♀️ Simply Unique – Owned by Mrs. Victoria Bates, a Master Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Instructor for Perry County Schools. Mrs. Bates uses her talent and passion for hair care to empower others while inspiring the next generation of stylists.

🖨 The Print Shop – Owned by Mrs. Heather Thurber and Mrs. Melissa Bolding. Established in 1839, this family-run business continues a rich legacy of quality printing, embroidery, and personalized products that serve our community with pride.
