Today was the Justice Tournament Day!

This is our second all day tournament, and biggest one we’ve attended all year. With 48 teams, over 130 students, it was a fun day.

And of course, it would be be a robotic weekend without the threat of weather. Thankfully, our fast-paced schedule had us done and cleaned up before any snowflake fell to the ground.

Our stats today:

Team A -
📕First team to turn in engineering notebook
Ranked 28th at the end if the day

Team B -
Ranked 19th
Increased their average to 28 pts

Team C -
🤯Overcame a robot with a mind of its own
Ranked 41st

Team D -
Ranked 33rd

Team E -
Ranked 48th

Team F -
🏅qualified 10th overall and made it to finals
⚙️scored 14 points in finals, ended 5th overall

Day 4 - Meet the teams
We had our tournament today but also, it was “team photo” day. I decided I’d like to try my hand at trading card design as well. What do you think? Aren’t their names awesome too?

Day 3 - Wow! These kids have built a robot, become masters of driving it, and today were able to start working on strategies for accumulating the most points.

We started practicing how the tournament will run tomorrow. And each round the teams got better!

Parents & Community Members, we can’t wait until 11:30 tomorrow for you to come and see all the amazing things we’ve done!

Parents and community members - You are invited to our Robotics Camp Open House Mini Tournament on Thursday!

It will be 45 minutes long and doors open at 11:30 am. The students are so excited to show you all they’ve been able to accomplish in 4 days.

Day 2 -
The campers finished building their robots today and some even began modifying it to be more balanced, stronger, or just have more bling (the kids call it “drip” these days) 😂

Almost all were able to practice driving, moving the cubes, and picking them up. Tomorrow we review the game and begin working to honing the skills of driving and strategy.

Today was the first day of robotics camp 2025, and the students did an amazing job building their bots. Many started with a basic bot, but others started with the claw and then built the body.

Our game this summer is Color Tower Cooperative where students work together in teams of 2 robots to build the most towers in 1 minute.

We are excited to announce that after 3 hours today, over half of the groups already have a working robot! And several of those have robots with arms and claws. We cannot wait to see what happens tomorrow!

Today at field day, the robots got to be driven all day by all 5-6th graders who were brave enough to try the “Pacific Rim” game.

Object of the game: Drop off the “bomb” to the “monster”, then bring the “monster” back for scientific research! 🧪
