We hope you have enjoyed getting to know our family as much as we are going to enjoy getting to know yours. So last but certainly not least let’s meet the extraordinary group of ladies that run our cafeteria. Ms. Marylou and the ladies that help in the cafeteria are some of the most endearing, caring, and hard-working people in our building. We are so thankful for the way they take time to make sure that the needs of our students are met daily. They are a crucial part of our East McDowell Family and they are making EMMS better every day 🧡🖤!

Through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), every student can participate — no meal application required.

🍎💛 Happy School Lunch Hero Day! 💛🍎

Today we celebrate the incredible people who serve more than meals in our schools every single day.

Our School Nutrition Teams are often the first smile a student sees and a steady presence they can count on. They show up early, work hard behind the scenes, and serve with a level of care that goes far beyond the lunch line.

To show just a small token of our appreciation, our Central Office team put together a few fun and meaningful touches—a “dirty soda” bar to enjoy and personalized succulents as a reminder of just how valued each team member truly is.

These photos capture just a glimpse of the heart, creativity, and appreciation that went into today—but more importantly, they reflect the heart of the people we are celebrating.

A special thank you to Erin Buchanan and Kim Reel for the time, thought, and care they poured into making this day special for our teams.

Spring has officially arrived at Old Fort Elementary! 🌸🐰

A big shoutout to Cafeteria Manager Tiffany Effler for turning the kitchen into a bright and cheerful celebration of the season. From the “Spring into Healthy Habits” bulletin board blooming with encouragement, to the festive serving line filled with bunnies and spring décor—every detail is a reminder that healthy choices can be fun and beautiful.

When you walk through those cafeteria doors, it truly feels like spring has sprung! 🌼
