From CIS Coordinator, Mason McGinnis:
We’re excited to invite our families to the Strongest Warrior Strongman Competition on Saturday, October 31st! 💪

Come out and watch local strength athletes compete in a variety of strongman events while supporting an important cause right here in our community! We will also have raffle prizes, vendors, and activities for families to enjoy.

Most importantly, 100% of the proceeds from our raffle will go directly to Communities In Schools of Appalachian Highlands to support students right here in Smyth County. These funds help us provide resources and support to students and families facing barriers both inside and outside of school.

📅 Saturday, October 31st
⏰ Competition begins at 9:00 a.m.
📍 Smyth County Barbell – Chilhowie, VA

We would love to see our students and families come out, enjoy the competition, and support a great cause. Come watch some incredible feats of strength while helping us make a difference for kids in our community! ❤️💪

Make your mark, and see where it takes you!

On Tuesday, September 15, we’re celebrating International Dot Day — a day inspired by author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds that encourages students to celebrate creativity, courage, and making their own unique mark on the world!

Students are encouraged to join the fun by wearing POLKA DOTS or PAJAMAS! (As scheduled for Childhood Cancer Awareness).

Whether you’re dotted up or cozy in your PJs, we can’t wait to celebrate a day of creativity with our students!
