Please welcome Ms. Granger-Mbugua to the teaching team!
She says...
I’m so excited to be joining the Smitha family this year! This transition is especially meaningful to me because I attended Smitha as a 7th and 8th grader when the school first opened in 1993. Returning to Smitha as an educator truly feels like coming full circle.

I’m returning to the classroom this fall after taking time away to raise my two children, Naomi, who will be entering 4th grade, and Micah, who will be entering 7th grade. My experience in education spans grades K–12. I spent 12 years teaching secondary English and the past six years tutoring students in grades K–6 here in Cobb County. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as PTA president at my children's elementary school.

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll usually find my husband and me cheering on Micah and Naomi at a baseball game, football game, or dance competition.

I’m incredibly excited to be back at Smitha and look forward to partnering with our staff, students, and families to make this a wonderful school year. I can't wait to meet everyone!
