🎨🎭🎶 BIG news for Georgia students and fine arts education!

Yesterday, Governor Kemp signed SB 556 into law, expanding HOPE Scholarship rigor recognition to include qualifying advanced fine arts coursework in dance, music, theatre, and visual art.

This legislation supports students pursuing rigorous fine arts pathways while strengthening connections to Georgia’s growing creative industries. Thank you to the educators whose feedback helped inspire this effort and to our state leaders for supporting opportunities that prepare students for life.

Welcome to Marietta, Ms. Edwards! Marietta High School has hired Eileen Edwards, a 14-year member of the dance faculty at CCCEPA at Pebblebrook High School, to lead our dance program and to support our musical theatre program.

We are so proud of Mr Herndon!

Congratulations to MHS Orchestra Director Erik Herndon, who was named a Music Teachers of Excellence Award Semi-finalist by the CMA Foundation! This national recognition honors educators who create inspiring, inclusive classrooms and make a lasting impact through music. After more than two decades in the classroom, Mr. Herndon continues to be a bright light for our Blue Devils!

Our MMS 8th-grade orchestra students joined the MHS Orchestra for String Day, learning side-by-side and rehearsing with composer Perry Holbrook on one of his own pieces. Turn up the volume and enjoy a few fun facts straight from the MPAC stage!
