High school athletes hoping to get recruited to play in college are many times confused of the process. Resources to educate athletes and their parents exist, however the process is a challenge if you are doing this yourself. Relying on your high school coach to do this for you is a HUGE mistake. The recruiting process can leave student athletes and their parents confused. Here is a basic overview of the college recruiting process.
1. You must be IDENTIFIED -- You need to be noticed and make it known to coaches that you want to play college sports.
2. You must be EVALUATED -- Coaches need to gather information about you to see if you and your athletic ability to see if you are a good fit for their program.
3. You must be ENGAGED -- This is when coaches contact you personally.
4. You must be OFFERED -- Coaches offer you a genuine playing opportunity at the next level.
6. You become COMMITTED -- After being offered, you make a verbal commitment to one school. You become SIGNED -- This is the final step.
Once you sign a National Letter of Intent (NLI), you are legally bound to play for a college team.
Parents, where is your student athlete in this process? Don't have a clue? Is he even being recruited? Come to our Free seminar to find how to get your student athlete recruited.
